Officials said there will be an increased law enforcement presence at schools in the Florida Keys after the social media threat.

Monroe County Sheriff’s officials said Tuesday that detectives are investigating a social media threat involving a Key Largo school.

Officials have not released details about the threat, but said they are working with the Monroe School District and the state attorney’s office on the investigation.

Amid the investigation, the sheriff said parents can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence at schools in the Keys.

“Investigating the safety of our students and staff is my highest priority,” Sheriff Rick Ramsey said in a statement. The safety of our children is of primary importance.
