Man Saying His Lawyer Got Him Fired Fails to Sway Appeals Court

A Texas man can’t sue his lawyer for allegedly advising his employer to fire him for an accident he’d caused when driving a company truck, a state appeals court said, because the cause of his dismissal had already been decided in a federal suit.

The doctrine of collateral estoppel blocked plaintiff Kenneth Henry’s lawsuit, the Texas Court of Appeals, Fifth District said in a ruling Thursday upholding a trial court decision.
